What is Bell All Access Music?
Bell All Access Music is a Canadian digital music subscription site open to all Canadian residents. We offer a catalogue of millions of tracks from leading and emerging artists from all four major labels and hundreds of indie labels which grows every week. Bell All Access Music allows you to stream and download our entire catalogue for one low monthly price. The Bell All Access Music To Go plan also allows you to transfer an unlimited number of tracks to your PlaysForSure portable device.
You can enjoy the service for a monthly or yearly fee. The music you download through Bell All Access Music will only be available as long as you are a subscriber.
To use Bell All Access Music all you need is a computer (see minimum requirements) and an Internet connection (we recommend a high speed connection for more efficient streaming and downloading). What is the quality of the files?
Unlike file sharing, Bell All Access Music files are taken directly from the master recording. Most of our music files are encoded in Windows Media Audio at 192Kbps stereo. In addition, music files are encoded at normalized volume levels and feature complete information about the artist and recording. This means you are receiving music at a quality level equivalent to physical CDs.

I'm trying to download music, but it's not working
The reason the download procedure is not starting is most likely because you have a popup blocker that you will need to disable prior to clicking the Download button. Here are a few methods to help you find and disable your popup blocker(s).
- If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2:
- Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the browser window
- You will see an option for popup blocker, click this option
- On the next screen you will see an option to turn off (those are the specific words in the menu) the popup blocker. Please do so,you can re-enable it later.
- You may be running 3rd party toolbars that have pop-up blocker features: Within your browser window just below the address bar, you may have some Toolbars installed, such as Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, My Search etc. You will have to find the option in each of these to disable the popup blockers. Note that it is possible to have more than one running so make sure to disable them all. You can right-click on the toolbars and you will see a list of toolbars that you have installed on your system. If there are listings that do not have a checkmark beside them and you think it could be a searching toolbar, put a checkmark beside it so it will show up in the browser. It will be easier to customize if the Toolbars are all visible.
- Firewalls can also contain popup blockers. To find these please go to the system tray which is the series of small icons by the clock in the Windows Taskbar. By passing the mouse cursor over each icon you will get a small box with a description of what the program is. If you have any that are firewalls (Ex: Norton Internet Security or Personal Firewall, McAfee Firewall, Zone Alarm, Freedom, Telus Security...) right click on the icon and choose the shut down or disable option. This option can be named different things depending on the particular program
Once you have disabled your popup blockers and firewalls, use the link provided in your order confirmation email or access your Order History to try to download the files.
When the Download Manager comes up, it tries to connect, but gives 'try again later' beside each track, how do I resolve this?
Please follow the steps below to re-download your music files.
IMPORTANT: If you are trying to download through a corporate web site or domain, please check with your network administrator before disabling any protection such as firewalls or other network settings.
Try these steps first:
- Temporarily disable all firewall and pop-up blocker software you may be running on your computer.
- Make sure you are logged on to the computer with an account that has administrative rights and not with a restricted user account that may not allow this type of download.
- Close and re-launch the Internet Explorer browser.
Now try downloading your music files again, making sure to select the same download location as before. If you are still receiving an error message when attempting to download, please check the following:
- In Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.
- Click on the Connections tab and select the LAN Settings button.
- Only the Automatically Detect Settings checkbox in the Automatic Configuration section should be selected on this page.
- Make sure the Use a Proxy Server checkbox is not selected unless you are using a proxy server.
Now try downloading your music files again, making sure to select the same download location as before.
I downloaded my tracks to my computer, but cannot find the files
If you cannot find songs that you have downloaded in Windows Vista or Windows 7, it is because these operating systems and Internet Explorer 7 have a feature called Protected Mode, that saves your files to a different folder than the one you specified to reduce risks to your computer
To find your songs:
- Songs downloaded with Internet Explorer 7 with "Protected Mode" on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems will be downloaded to your Temporary Internet Files folder in a virtualized location. For example, if you tried to download songs to %drive%:\Users\{username}\Music (e.g.: C:\Users\Username\Music), the songs will be saved to %drive%:\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized\{system drive letter}\Users\{username}\Music (e.g.: C:\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized\C\User\Username\Music)
- To find your music, please follow the above path and copy and paste these music to your desired location
- Play your music from the new location of your choice
Alternatively, you may temporarily disable Protected Mode before you download your files:
To disable Protected Mode:
- Double click the "Protected Mode" label at the bottom of the Internet Explorer 7 browser window
- Uncheck "Enable Protected Mode" and select OK
- Open a new browser instance
*Note: By disabling Protect Mode, you will increase the vulnerability of your computer when accessing sites other than the All Access Music Catalogue. Therefore after downloading we recommend you re-enable protected mode by reversing the steps noted above.
